Position Summary:

Responsible for advancing the mission of UIC Intercollegiate Athletics by planning, developing, and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies and campaigns. Cultivates, solicits, and stewards financial support from alumni, corporations, private donors, trusts, foundations, and other constituents to enhance student-athlete success, athletic programs, facilities, and development efforts with the University's and Athletics' goals and priorities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for organizing, developing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans for growing overall donor and alumni engagement, converting interest into active donor relationships, thus increasing overall philanthropic and transactional fundraising related revenue for the department.

  • Oversee the implementation of the Flames Athletic Fund, the annual fund for UIC Athletics. Works in conjunction with Central Giving on campus with organization, planning, communication and stewardship of an athletics-centric annual fund plan. Included: solicitation letters and engagement. Constituencies include alumni, parent and past-parent groups.

  • Coordinate special projects and events within Athletics, including alumni events, in-game hospitality, Athletics-related events [i.e. the Sparky's, Baum Family Fund Day, senior days, Hall of Fame ceremonies, season ticket holder events, recruiting visits, post-season tournament events and sport-specific special events].

  • Coordinate stewardship activities, including acknowledgements and letters of gratitude, donor and prospect special outreach, Flames Athletic Fund benefit fulfillment, scholarship coordination and scholarship-both current-use and endowment-donor interaction, and season ticket holder stewardship events.

  • Act as a liaison to sport-specific, volunteer Advisory Boards, furthering engagement and supporting Board activities that will benefit both transactional and long-term philanthropic support.

  • Oversee communications to alumni, donors, season ticket holders, fans, eNewsletters, and sport-specific communications.

  • Coordinate and assist with gift processing and management.

  • Staff game days and special events on and off campus.

  • Promote compliance with UIC, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in development, fundraising, or advancement, sales or marketing.

  • Commitment to the mission of UIC and UIC Athletics.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree

  • Experience working within an Intercollegiate athletics program.
