We have a client seeking an Infrastructure Operations Manager.

Role Overview
This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure operation of server and data center infrastructure at our client. It combines both strategic planning and hands-on execution, focusing on IT operational activities such as installation, maintenance, support, and security. The position requires balancing day-to-day operational reliability with the implementation of long-term infrastructure projects. In this role, 75% of your time will be hands-on work, and 25% people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage team of system engineers and administrators to carry out day-to-day operations and datacenter (on-prem and public cloud hosted) related activities.
  • Manage enterprise-wide virtualized platform to support business critical applications with zero unplanned downtime.
  • Responsible for providing 24X7 support to businesses and application teams with the help of the team and establishing a schedule for on-call support.
  • Manage compute and storage platforms to support corporate and other business units' applications.
  • Manage IT budgets and cost allocation for the services provided to various business units and corporate departments.
  • Assist application teams designing infrastructure components to support business resiliency.
  • Be responsible for carrying out life cycle management of both virtual and physical assets.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and plan/execute yearly application disaster recovery exercises.
  • Responsible for managing severe/critical operating systems vulnerabilities on all assets residing both on-premises and public cloud.
  • Responsible for setting up monitoring of all critical production systems and engaging application teams in troubleshooting.
  • Participate in major and critical incident management calls to support application teams to restore services and/or restore performance of degraded services.
  • Responsible for designing and maintaining corporate backup policies adhering to Corporate IT controls.
  • Responsible for following the least privilege principle on all corporate datacenter assets and virtual environments to minimize risk of data exposure.
  • Responsible for designing and producing reports in infrastructure areas and assessing team's performance against set SLAs: uptime, response time, resolution time.
  • Collaborate with other Information Systems departments to coordinate activities.
  • Confer with and advise subordinates on policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.

Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 6 years of relevant and progressive experience
  • 3 years of leadership experience

Skills & Experience
  • Deep knowledge/experience with VMware
  • AWS/Azure skills are required
  • Linux experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
