Primary Purpose
Assists with special projects and general operations of the assigned area, in order to gain business knowledge and prepare for a future career at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education
  • Must be enrolled in a related undergraduate degree program at an accredited university, with a minimum of 90 credit hours; or
  • Must be enrolled in a related graduate degree program at an accredited university.

Skills or Special Abilities
  • Must be proficient with MS Office tools.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop accurate written materials.
  • Ability to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with researching, developing, implementing, and administering projects for the assigned work area.
  • Assists with data entry/analysis as assigned.
  • Assists other staff members with their professional duties, in order to optimize business operations.

Job Accountabilities
  • Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
