0.10 Application Window Open date: January 27, 2026 Next review date: Tuesday, Feb 10, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Feb 28, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Music at UC Santa Barbara seeks to appoint a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer position at the University of California Santa Barbara beginning Spring 2026 to teach Son Jarocho, leading the ensemble course and holding at least one performance each academic quarter. Qualifications Basic qualifications

* Subject matter expertise in Son Jarocho performance, demonstrated through training or professional experience. * Knowledge of the history and cultural significance of Son Jarocho music. * A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching Son Jarocho. * A minimum of 1 year of professional experience performing jarana, requinto, and versada. Additional qualifications

* Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. Preferred qualifications
* Knowledge and ability to teach performance in additional Mexican regional or national music traditions such as Mariachi. * Experience teaching in a higher education or post-secondary institution. Application Requirements Document requirements
