Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work orders in JDE management system (create, print, close, add comments, etc..)
  • Maintain and repair production machinery, and facilities as required
  • Maintain production machinery to eliminate safety hazards
  • Perform preventative maintenance of machinery in accordance with the established PM schedule and checklists
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery as required in a quality and timely manner
  • Listen for any unusual machine noises and identify items that may require maintenance
  • Take initiative to repair such items prior to a machine breakdown
  • Maintain essential spare parts inventory with Operations Manager
  • Maintain and organize parts for maintenance projects
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and overtime as directed or required
  • Promote a safe work environment and obey all established safety and environmental rules/standards
  • Follow rules for GMP / HACCP policies
  • Follow all written and verbal work instructions
  • Member of the Safety Committee and contributes to continuous improvement projects as required
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols established by Berry Global
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor with other

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experiences as Maintenance Technician in an industrial type atmosphere or trade school, work experience equivalent.
  • Strong machine troubleshooting skills, welding and fabrication skills, and electrical maintenance knowledge.
  • Proficient in the operation of power and hand tools used for maintenance related tasks
  • Must be a self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal daily supervision
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or squat for periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Basic PLC knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have ability to read and write and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Must have minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: background check, physical, drug and alcohol screenings
