Part-time Grounds & Maintenance Worker

Under the direct supervisor of the Facilities Director and Maintenance Technician III, the grounds/maintenance employee will perform works to maintain the function and appearance of the campus facilities of Blackhawk Technical College.

Position will average 10 - 15 hours per week.

Maintain grounds, campus roads, sidewalks, and parking lots including lawn mowing, trimming, irrigation, and snow removal at for required Campus Buildings.
1. Complete general landscape maintenance including tree removal, tree trimming, planting, watering and fertilizing as necessary.
2. Maintaining landscaping, including weeding and mulching as necessary.
3. Provide general maintenance and clean up to all campus lawns, planting beds and sidewalks, seeding and minor lawn repairs.
4. Picking up trash and litter as necessary to maintain a clean welcoming campus environment.
5. Function as a helper to other Maintenance Technician employees, assisting in major plumbing, heating, electrical, or carpentry repairs.
6. Maintain tools and equipment.
7. Move heavy furniture or equipment from one location to another.
8. Performs pick-up and delivery duties as directed.
9. Operates facilities vehicles and assists in routine vehicle maintenance.
10. Perform various support services, such as room set up and transportation/distribution of deliveries.
11. Perform assistances as needed for mail services.

Education & Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 2 to 3 years maintenance, grounds, or custodial experience
3. Previous landscaping experience desired.
