Live Hanger Forklift Operator - Dept 226 Day (Belgravia)

Pay Rate; $19.65 per hour

Shift Hours: 7am - 3pm +OT

(Additional $.20 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for removing bird modules (live birds) from live haul trucks and placing them on the coop dump conveyor with a fork lift. Also responsible for removing cleaned and washed bird modules from return conveyor and placing them back on live haul truck.
• Remove modules from trailer to receiving puller through proper and safe operation of the forklift. Remove empty modules, using the forklift, from out going roller and place back on to trailer.
• Damaged coops or coops with birds still inside them must be placed off to the designated area for repair or bird removal.
• Alternate with second Forklift Driver; coordinate actions of alternating between placing full modules onto receiver roller and removing empty modules from return roller.
• Maintain forklift in operational status with use of operator preventative and pre/post-operation maintenance checks and services.

REQUIREMENTS

• Able to do basic math, counting and telling of time.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English. Able to follow instructions, both verbal and demonstrated.
• Previous production type experience preferred. Must be able to operate forklift. Must have a valid drivers license at all times. Alternate duties as Live Hanger and Dump Operator.
• Good hand-eye coordination. Ability to make quick quality judgement decisions within the levels of assigned duties.
