What to Expect
Energy Reliability is seeking a Lab Manager to lead the Reliability Lab and a team of technicians. This role requires a results-driven leader with a relentless focus onproductreliability,root causeanalysis, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will drive collaboration with engineering teams to ensure products and processes meet rigorous standards whilemaintainingthe lab as a hub of operational excellence. The Lab Manager will oversee daily operations, including the management of environmental test chambers, their maintenance, calibration, and compliance with industry and internal standards. This includes ensuring equipment is functioning optimally, adhering to safety protocols, andmaintaining accuratedocumentation for all testing activities. The role demands strong leadership to mentor and guide direct reports, foster a culture of innovation and accountability, and align technical execution with strategic program goals. The Lab Manager will also play a critical role inoptimizinglab workflows, managing resource allocation, and ensuring that testing schedules support project timelines. By driving process improvements, supporting critical path projects, and adapting to evolving business needs, this individual will ensure the labremainsa cornerstone of reliability and quality. Additionally, the manager will collaborate with stakeholders to define lab priorities,allocatebudgets, and ensure that the team's capabilities scale with the organization's growth.

What You'll Do
  • Define and communicate project requirements to the team, manage day-to-daybuildand inventory tasks, and provide regular updates to management
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency, scalability, and alignment with project timelines

  • Manage resource allocation (equipment, personnel, materials) to support testing schedules and critical path projects

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to forecast tasks, plan resources, and secure materials fortimelyproject initiation

  • Improve and implement high-quality processes to support scalable growth, drive shop efficiency, and adapt to evolving business needs

  • Continuously refine strategies and planning using historical project performance data

  • Develop methods to enhance employee productivity, reduce resource waste, andoptimizeoperational efficiency

  • Recruit, assign, and evaluate team members;identifygrowth opportunities, provide actionable feedback, and foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and professional development

  • Oversee the design and deployment of scalable infrastructure architectures to align with technical and businessobjectives, ensuring robustness and future-readiness

  • Implement monitoring and maintenance protocols to guarantee infrastructure reliability, performance optimization, and adherence to compliance standards


What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience as a shop manager in a research and development (R&D) environment
  • 3+ years of proven leadership experience in a technical R&D setting
  • Demonstratedexpertisein managing staffing, budgets, inventory, equipment, schedules, and capacity
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively to diverse audiencesProficiencyin Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change with enthusiasm, adaptability, and a positive mindset

    Expected Compensation
    $92,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
