HSE Advisor (Offshore)
The HSE Advisor ensures health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are implemented across all vessel operations, including contractors. The role ensures compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture offshore.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and Safety Management Systems Support onboard leadership with all HSE-related matters Conduct and participate in HSE audits, inspections, risk assessments, JSAs, PTWs, and toolbox talks Lead or assist in incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions Track, analyze, and report HSE performance data and metrics Coordinate and deliver HSE training, inductions, drills, and mentoring; maintain LMS records Ensure compliance for PPE, chemicals (SDS), and lifting equipment certifications Promote proactive HSE engagement and safe work practices onboard Communicate regularly with HSE leadership regarding vessel activities and issues
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field OR equivalent HSE experience/certifications Relevant certifications may include NEBOSH, OSHA 500/501, or BCSP designation (as applicable by country/client) Offshore HSE experience required Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations
Certificates & Requirements
Valid BOSIET or FOET OEUK (or equivalent) offshore medical certificate Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
