We are seeking a Benefits Specialist to work on-site at our Kingsford, MI location.

The Benefits Specialist will administer, maintain, and communicate the organization's benefits program such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with match, flexible spending accounts (FSA), Health Savings Account.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Manage and process claims, invoices, and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Research and analyze benefit plans.
  • Ensure Benefit Programs are compliant with legal requirements.
  • Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and compile reports on benefits usage, costs, and trends for management review.
  • Educate employees about Benefits and enrollment, both during and outside of Open Enrollment windows.
  • Process Benefit Invoices
  • Organize and process annual open enrollment and new hire benefit paperwork
  • Maintain accurate records for staff benefit access in the HRIS system.
  • Compliance and reporting (ARISA, ACA, Workman's Comp)
  • Travel to all Lake Shore Facilities within a 120-mile radius as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • H.S. degree required, A.S. or B.S degree and/or experience in business or related field preferred
  • Computer working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including multitasking
  • Knowledge of HRIS is preferred with ability to quickly learn different web-based programs
  • Knowledge of self-bill processes.
