ABOUT THE ROLE

Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. (Sturgeon Electric) - a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc. - has provided complex, large-scale electrical construction services for our clients throughout the western United States. As a full-service electrical provider, we offer industry leading electrical transmission, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy services. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both powerline construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider.

Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.

The Tools Shop Supervisor is responsible for operating an efficient and effective operation through knowledge of tools, costs controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all relevant records.


ABOUT YOU

* Develop and implement in conjunction with team, systems for scheduling resources, inventory control and vendor evaluations, as well as operational procedures

* Keep current on new technologies as they relate to management of tools and apply accordingly

* Manage tool inventory and distribution

* Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures

* Document work performed by utilizing system software programs

* Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times

* Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations

* Coordinate with Safety Department to ensure safe work environment is maintained

* Secure and analyze vendor quotes and estimates for tools, parts and supplies

* Monitor and control inventory levels of tools, parts and supplies

* Develop and maintain vendor list and continuously monitor overall quality of services provided

* Other duties as assigned

* Regular and predictable attendance

* Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

* Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable

Qualifications:

* Proficiency with computer systems as they relate to utilization of scheduling of resources, inventory management systems

* Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications

* Thorough knowledge of cost tracking

* Strong commitment to safety

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Excellent organizational and time management skills

Education:

* High school diploma or GED is required

* Minimum 1 year of experience managing tools shop

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $56,000-$90,000 / year
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
