POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development, the Marketing and Business Development Intern contributes to our marketing and business development efforts by supporting various activities, including market research, CRM management, event coordination, social media content creation, and culture research. A key part of the role involves fostering high levels of communication, coordination, and cooperation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Article Writing: Research and create 12 blog posts that include information that clients and stakeholders would be interested in reading and will boost our AEO for AI searches.
- Market Research & List Management: Research target market sectors, develop accurate target lists, and maintain them for CRM database import. Assist with CRM data entry and clean-up.
- Media List Updates: Update and research media lists relevant to the industry, ensuring current contact information.
- Event Assistance: Support special events, including construction-related events and tradeshows, under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development.
- Social Media Collaboration: Work with the Marketing Coordinator to create and post social media content.
- Campaign Review: Analyze email marketing campaigns and social media impressions, establishing follow-up target lists.
- Event Representation: Attend events with the Business Development and Marketing team, representing Greenfire professionally.
- Meeting Participation: Participate in Marketing/Business Development meetings.
- Performs any other duties, tasks or special projects that may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recommend a BS or some advanced education in a related field such as marketing, and a desire to learn marketing and business development for the construction industry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include excellent telephone etiquette.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Some experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or Canva.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk or workstation.
- Ability to walk, stand, and move around construction sites.
- Capability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas as needed.
- Ability to navigate uneven or rough terrain and enter confined spaces.
- Ability to handle and organize documents, office supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25-50 lbs, though not frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear and understand conversations, instructions, and alerts on site and in meetings.
- Ability to work long hours, including occasional extended days or weekends, especially during critical project phases.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work time is split between a climate-controlled office environment and working outside with exposure to outdoor conditions such as varying weather, temperature extremes, dust, and noise.
- Minimum working hours are 8 am to 5:00 pm with a 60-minute lunch break Monday - Friday or as approved by the Director of Marketing and Business Development in writing. Occasionally early am or after-hour commitments may be necessary. Management will make every attempt to issue notification as far in advance as possible.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels typical of an office environment, including background conversations, phone calls, and office equipment or noise levels typical of interaction with heavy machinery, tools, and other construction activities. Moderate to high noise levels on construction sites may require hearing protection.
