Assistant Director of Admissions, Graduate & Continuing Education

About the role

Our Assistant Director of Admissions provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Adult & Graduate enrollment team. This role is responsible for building a high-performing recruitment team through intentional coaching, development, and performance management.

The Assistant Director strengthens the effectiveness of admissions operations by standardizing recruitment practices, optimizing CRM utilization, and ensuring data-informed decision-making. In partnership with the Director of Admissions, this position plays a critical role in achieving enrollment targets by shaping recruitment strategy and supporting goal initiatives through data analysis and strategic planning.

What you'll do

1. Team Development and Leadership - 50%
  • Provide ongoing coaching, structured mentoring, and individualized development for enrollment counselors to build a high-achieving, student-centered recruitment team.
  • Lead onboarding and training programs that accelerate team readiness and continuously strengthen staff capabilities.
  • Identify performance trends and skill gaps; implement interventions that drive growth and accountability.
  • Cultivate a motivating environment where team members understand expectations, own outcomes, and consistently contribute toward enrollment goals.

2. Operational Excellence & Process Management - 15%
  • Ensure consistent implementation of recruitment processes, communication plans, and conversion best practices across the team.
  • Optimize CRM utilization to enhance relationship management, streamline workflows, and support accurate data tracking.
  • Maintain high-quality reporting standards that support visibility into team activity and enrollment progress.

3. Strategic Planning & Enrollment Optimization - 1 5 %
  • Collaborate with the Director to refine lead generation strategies and improve efficiency.
  • Support institutional planning by ensuring timely, accurate collection and distribution of enrollment data.
  • Contribute to broader admissions initiatives that strengthen market reach, program awareness, and the overall student experience.

4. Recruitment Events & External Engagement - 15%
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of external recruitment events that build pipeline, enhance program awareness, and support enrollment goals.
  • Represent the institution at strategic events and serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for Graduate and Continuing Education programs.
  • Build partnerships through committees that strengthen recruitment channels and increase prospective student engagement.

5. Institutional Initiatives - 5%
  • Participate in institutional initiatives, committees, and other duties as assigned to support recruitment and university visibility.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must thrive in a goal-oriented work environment; proven track record in creating a healthy and effective "sales-oriented" culture. Must demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to design and deliver training programs.
  • Must have an aptitude for numbers and be able to interpret and communicate data to multiple audience levels (e.g., counselors through senior executives).
  • Must be a creative problem solver who responds to challenges with solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, proficiency in Google Workspace and Salesforce preferred.
  • Must be a proven self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple duties.
  • Individual must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner.
  • Ability to travel as the role requires.

Education, Licensure & Experience

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or related leadership required.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in team training or supervision


Physical Demands:

The job requires extended periods of sitting and traversing the Bethel Campus on a regular basis. This job requires the ability to set up tables for presentations and carrying and/or lifting up to 15 lbs. Expected Hours of Work: Typically, the schedule is Monday - Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The position is 40-45 hours per week, working 12 months in a year.

The pay range for this role is:

55,000 - 60,000 USD per year (Bethel University)
