Mechanical Claims Specialist *Are you an experienced mechanic ready to step away from the shop and into a professional office environment-without leaving automotive work behind?* This role allows you to use your handson mechanical knowledge in a new way, helping customers and dealerships navigate mechanical warranty claims.
As a Mechanical Claims Specialist, you'll leverage your understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes to evaluate claims, explain coverage decisions, and guide customers through next steps-all from a comfortable, modern workspace. Key Responsibilities * Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical warranty claims using established guidelines and repair criteria * Apply automotive repair knowledge to determine claim approval, denial, or required next steps * Communicate clearly and professionally via phone and email with: * Dealership service departments * Vehicle owners * Internal claims teams * Explain claim decisions in a way that is easy for nontechnical customers to understand * Demonstrate empathy and active listening when handling customer concerns * Maintain accurate electronic claim documentation using internal systems * Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure fair, consistent, and highquality claim decisions Call Types You'll Handle * *Dealership calls* to review required repairs and determine warranty coverage * *Vehicle owner calls* seeking explanation of approved or denied claims * *Customer guidance calls* to explain repair processes, quotes, and next steps for coverage review Your mechanical expertise will be essential in understanding vehicle issues and advising customers or dealerships on claim outcomes. Required Qualifications * Minimum *3 years of experience* as an automotive mechanic or in a related mechanical field * Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes * Ability to clearly explain mechanical concepts to nontechnical individuals * Previous customer service experience handling complex or escalated issues * Excellent verbal communication skills * Comfortable navigating multiple software systems and monitors while on calls * Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, email) * Detailoriented, selfmotivated, and able to work in a fastpaced call center environment * High school diploma or GED required Preferred Qualifications * ASE Certification * Experience with labor guides (AllData preferred) * Experience using automotive scan tools * Bilingual (Spanish & English) Additional Information * Start date: *February 23* * *Initial 2week onsite onboarding training* (travel required to designated training locations) * Occasional Saturday availability required * Highspeed internet and a quiet home workspace required for remote or hybrid schedules *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
