Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Quality Engineer will serve as the ISO Management Representative for the facility.
  • The backup for the ISO rep will be the Quality Manager/SQF Practitioner
  • The backup for the SQF Practitioner will the Quality Engineer
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
  • Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any nonconformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Set up and prepare CQV protocol for required tool qualifications
  • Prepare and implement quality procedures and work instructions in C-Pro Compliance database
  • Create and maintain product specifications, customer spec files, and analyze data as necessary.
  • Supports process and test method validation activities by developing and executing protocols for new and existing processes.
  • Evaluates and introduces new measurement techniques to increase repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Assist and oversees functional operations of SPC collection system, AVID systems and quality measurement equipment.
  • Assist in the reduction of customer complaints due to quality related problems.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow our GMP practices and wear the proper PPE. (Steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing production)
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer and supplier requirements.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Engineering or related field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Quality programs, Six Sigma and audit procedures for ISO, SQF and HACCP.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct in a positive manner.
  • Proven ability to identify and prioritize major areas of opportunity and take appropriate actions.
