Vitro has a Regional Sales Manager position open in the Western half of the United States. The successful candidate must live in the Western half of the US (Central time Zone). This position is to be a home office.


The Regional Manager works closely with the Director, US Commercial Sales and the Director, Architectural Development and Regional Manager - NAM Team - to implement the commercial strategy as defined by sales and marketing objectives which are designed to achieve Vitro business goals. Successful implementation requires the professional management of several critical sales functions: planning, communications, customer relations, tactical pricing, negotiations, time management, forecasting, resource allocation and administration. The individual is responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives as detailed in annual profit plans within their region. Additionally, they must select and develop the customer base that will deliver on long term business objectives in terms of share growth, market position, and product mix.


This individual must set a positive example of team leadership and reinforce this behavior within the sales organization.



Responsibilities


Leads the regional sales team to attain Vitro Architectural Glass objectives by identifying and managing key construction projects in the region/territory and drives the specification process to result in sales of glass to the business. The primary audience will be architects, glazing contractors, certified fabricators, developers, institutions, and owners.


Required to:


Direct and provide oversite to identify development needs of the regional Sales teams and assures that action plans for new and identified team members are established and executed. Serves in a supervisory role for 6-8 sales team members to manage their overall development and effectiveness, both individually and their respective teams. In accomplishing this responsibility, the Regional Manager will:



  • Identify development opportunity to improve or enhance Sales Manager Skills
  • Create action plans to support team members in learning and skill development
  • Serve as mentor to the team members to develop their leadership and achievement of team goals
  • Be available as a resource to team members to address operational related questions
  • Supervise sales team members including performance and support
  • Review team goal development and performance
  • Conduct performance evaluation and administrative supervisory tasks
  • Build relationships with channel influencers and end customers working directly with the Regional Manager NAM Teams to coordinate efforts in the region and territory.
  • Direct sales and negotiations efforts to meet business goals for the region

    • Identify key customers and developer targets within the region
    • Coordinate closure of projects to secure business


  • Utilize Vitro sales, technical service and other functions along with Certified Network customers to close the sale on key projects.
  • Build market knowledge and key business relationships within the territory to:

    • Identify growth opportunities
    • Support new product development and promotion efforts
    • Provide ongoing marketing intelligence




Participate in key industry events to represent Vitro at local, and regional levels.


50-70% travel with both weekends and weekend/evening hours as well as frequent overtime.



Qualifications:


An undergraduate business or technical college degree is required. An advanced technical or business degree is preferred. Required to have a minimum of seven years' experience in sales or marketing.



  • Requires a person with a strong industrial sales background and managerial strengths
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Operate within a business team framework
  • Motivate their direct reports
  • Strong communications skills are required
  • Broad knowledge of flat glass products, glass production, and distribution and glazing techniques preferred
  • Experience leading or managing teams is preferred, but this position is intended for development of potential leadership, and the ability to learn skills in the leadership area are sought.
  • Must have the capacity to understand and apply financial tools such as cost models and credit analysis.
