Purpose

The Alumni Engagement Manager role is a member of the Alumni Engagement team, which is part of the McCombs Career, Employer & Alumni Engagement department. The key purpose of this role is to support alumni engagement by tracking and managing alumni data, effective programming, consistent communication, measured outreach, and management of McCombsConnect, our virtual alumni and student community. This role is expected to work cross-functionally with partners across McCombs to lead and execute alumni engagement efforts for McCombs.

Responsibilities

TRACK & REPORT ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT DATA

  • Manage alumni engagement requests, follow-up, and connections as defined by team leader, to be shared in monthly recaps to the McCombs leadership team.

  • Accurately add and update alumni engagement data in the CRM system to track impact and inform strategy.

SUPPORT ALUMNI PROGRAMMING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

  • Foster the McCombs Connect alumni and student virtual community to drive engagement in alumni networking, connection, and event marketing.

  • Work closely with alumni class ambassadors to maximize impact on McCombs Connect engagement.

  • Support the planning and execution of alumni events, including those for local and regional chapters.

MANAGE ALUMNI PORTFOLIO & OUTREACH

  • Focus on a defined portfolio of alumni to outreach consistently to listen, learn, and build strong relationships.

  • Engage alumni to define specific ways they want to participate via: 1) student education, programming, recruiting and/or networking, 2) executive education for their employer, 3) connecting with alumni career management for support, and/or 4) participating on a board or council.

  • Manage contact information and interactions in a CRM, maintaining consistent follow-up to foster deeper engagement.

DEVELOP & EXECUTE ALUMNI COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

  • Create, coordinate, and disseminate alumni communications in collaboration with all alumni teams to ensure standardization, simplification, and meaningful content.

  • Focus on the most effective communication channels to meet alumni where they are.

  • Ensure all alumni teams are aware of communications and have an opportunity for input.

  • Leverage and disseminate alumni engagement marketing pieces provided by the CMCO team, offering ideas to evolve marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and five years of professional experience in career management or a human resources role performing a variety of corporate recruiting activities Extensive knowledge of employer relations in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and program implementation experiences. Prior client facing experience. Demonstrated experience leading large events, webinars, and programs with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and/or other remote communication technologies.
  • Data analysis experience. Strong attention to detail and editing ability.
  • Previous success acting as both a strong contributor in team/highly collaborative settings as well as the ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to take initiative on projects. Demonstrated ability to bring calm clarity to complex projects, streamline operations, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven resilience and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA degree or relevant master's degree. Career services experience at a Research One Institution and/or Business School.
  • Experience with MBA, MS and/or BBA career management or extensive business experience in fields and industries highly sought after by current business students.
  • Experience interacting effectively with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and recruiters.
  • Experience with People Grove, 12Twenty, Canva, Smartsheet, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Sharepoint, etc.).
  • Industry perspective from outside higher education.
Salary Range
  • $60,000 - $68,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • May work under standard office conditions with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • This is an Austin, Texas-based position.

Employment Eligibility:
