Job Details:

Purpose

The HR Coordinator will serve as a key member of the Dean's Office HR team and report to the HR Director. This role supports the full employment lifecycle for College of Education staff and student employees through daily HR operations. The HR Coordinator will help foster a culture of exceptional customer service, timely and accurate support, teamwork, continuous learning, and professional growth, while serving as a trusted resource for employees.

General Notes: This job is on campus with some flexible work opportunity available.

Responsibilities
  • Support managers and leadership of the assigned COE units throughout the employee lifecycle including but not limited to recruiting, on-boarding, reclassifications, compensation changes, allowances, timekeeping, leave management, terminations, and off-boarding tasks. Manage approval processes and a high volume of electronic business processes for staff and students in Workday.
  • Communicate and administer University policies, regularly respond to inquiries from employees regarding all aspects of employment and provide referrals to appropriate campus resources. Escalate issues to HR Director as needed
  • Review and approve timesheets for employees that the COE HR team supports. Provide guidance to employees and managers on proper timekeeping practices and all leave types to ensure compliance with university policy.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency across all COE units regarding College of Education's specific policies and procedures related to staff and students. Establish and maintain a highly confidential personnel file system for staff according to university rules and record retention schedules
  • Assist the HR team with annual Staff Awards recognition event, new employee orientation and other HR projects.
  • Perform regular reviews of HR Reports in Workday including time, compensation, end dates, and eligibility as well as other reports in support of mass processing.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related Human Resources responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Outstanding customer service, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to create strong rapport with, and successfully advise, staff members at different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage projects, improve processes and lead projects to completion
  • Experience managing and following through with overlapping, time-sensitive projects in a dynamic multi-task environment
  • Experience working with confidential information and providing support to customers using discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and applications in the Microsoft Office suite

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior UT experience.
  • Experience with Workday and comfort learning new technologies.
  • SHRM or PHR certification.
Salary Range
  • $65,000 + depending on qualifications
