What to Expect

This Operational Lead will play a pivotal role in developing and disseminating clear, effective documentation and communications to collision operations. This position focuses on editing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for technical accuracy and usability, while managing internal communication channels to keep teams aligned with Tesla's collision goals. You will ensure that procedural updates and key messages reach frontline staff, technicians, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment by delivering consistent, relevant content that enhances operational efficiency and safety in collision services.


What You'll Do
  • Partner with subject matter experts, including Support teams, technicians, and quality teams, to gather input
  • Ensure SOPs and communications are accurate, aligned with collision repair standards, and reflect the latest operational strategies
  • Maintain, update, review and edit SOP's for relevance, technical accuracy, grammar, and adherence to style guidelines before publishing or distribution
  • Create engaging content for internal channels, such as newsletters, procedural updates, emails, video scripts, and presentations for team meetings
  • Manage day-to-day operations of communication and documentation platforms, including knowledge bases, email lists, Teams channels, and internal, to ensure seamless information delivery
  • Support planning and execution of engagement initiatives, such as virtual briefings, recognition programs, and sharing success stories to boost team morale and alignment
  • Analyze data from communication tools (e.g., email metrics, platform usage) to provide insights and refine strategies for more effective SOP dissemination and departmental communication

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven technical editing/writing experience, with strong skills in creating clear, concise content for diverse audiences (e.g., frontline staff and leadership); preferably in automotive/service fields with SOP familiarity
  • Proficiency in digital tools for documentation and communication (e.g., structured authoring software like oXygen, collaboration platforms like Teams or SharePoint, and basic analytics for content performance)
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management abilities to handle multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional collaborations in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with a data-driven approach to evaluate and enhance communication and documentation impacts
  • Ability to work independently, build relationships across teams, and manage projects efficiently while adapting to evolving departmental needs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, markup languages (e.g., HTML, XML), and internal workflows for SOP management and knowledge sharing

    Expected Compensation
    $84,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
