GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Provides administrative support to the human resources function in the areas of HRIS/compensation/benefits, staffing/employment, employee relations, engagement and stewardship and/or organizational development (OD) and training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Actively engage in recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviews, and the candidate pre-hire process.
  • Support HR Lead in workforce staffing initiatives including engaging with hiring managers to support hiring needs, connecting with resources for recruiting, and participating/attending outreach opportunities such as job fair etc.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation. Lead new hire orientation on a rotating basis.
  • Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
  • Maintain employee files, hard and digital.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering internal and external HR related requests and questions.
  • Input employee personal data into human resources information/computer system (HRIS) database.
  • Process various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as job postings, pre-hire new-hire, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and stewardship activities.
  • Schedule employee meetings as needed.
  • Works with Employee Health & Safety Specialist on scheduling and staffing of periodic employee medical testing.
  • Acts as backup to HR Assistant/Front desk for all functions as needed.
  • Always maintains strict confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Hight School degree, or equivalent experience
  • Related experience in a Human Resources office environment
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • HR Certification or College coursework/degree a plus.



WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Office environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
