We are seeking a Process Engineer in our Morgan Hill, CA office to support CNC lathe operations by developing CNC programs, creating setup documentation, planning work using SAP, and creating and updating machine schedules. This role works closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and repeatable manufacturing processes. A strong understanding of CNC lathe setup and GD&T is essential.

Tasks include:



  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for CNC lathes (Gcode and/or CAM software).
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation for production.
  • Plan and manage work centers using SAPbased planning tools.
  • Create and update machine schedules to meet production deadlines and maximize machine utilization.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review part drawings, models, and manufacturability concerns.
  • Work directly with machinists and production workers to support setups, troubleshoot issues, and validate new processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate machining.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and enhance workflow efficiency.


Requirements:



  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CNC machining processes, especially CNC lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Exposure to CNC programming (Gcode or CAM software).
  • Understanding of CNC lathe setup practices, tooling, and workholding.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems for planning and scheduling preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Solidworks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Esprit preferred
