Space Planning

Job Description

Space Planning and Management's mission is to translate MU's academic, research and administrative programs into physical facility needs. This office provides and maintains an accurate set of campus floor plans and space inventory data for all campus-owned and leased facilities. This office also recommends space assignments and reassignments to the President and Provost.

Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Update, correct, and maintain official campus building floorplans using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate the flow of information between the AutoCAD drawing database and the Archibus space inventory database.
  • Assist with data entry and quality review for the annual space utilization inventory survey.
  • Conduct on-site building surveys to verify floorplans and space data as needed.
  • Assign official building numbers and coordinate or recommend room numbering for new and renovated spaces.
  • Train, coordinate, and oversee the work of student architectural assistants.
  • Develop complex or specialty plans on an as-needed basis.
  • Work with Campus Facilities departments to track project milestones, collect construction documents, and update official floorplans in a timely manner.
Shift

M-F 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Licensure or eligibility for licensure may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.00-$28.00/hour

Grade: GGS-008
