Summary

Job Description:

The ED Tech assists the nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergent duties in the care of Emergency Department patients. They also perform duties as Unit Secretary, thus having both a clinical and clerical aspect to their role. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This role is wellsuited for experienced Emergency Department Technicians who can support both clinical and clerical functions within a fastpaced environment. The following summarizes the primary responsibilities of the position; additional duties may be assigned as needed.

1. Performs desk duties in a clerical role with high levels of accuracy

2. Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care

3. Assists the nursing staff in triage

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required

BCLS certified with in the first 90 days
