Risk Analyst I (Hybrid - Raleigh, NC)

Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This position is responsible for research, data gathering, and analysis to support assigned business units. Evaluates potential losses while identifying solutions to minimize or eliminate risk. Recommends improvements to current processes and procedures, and ensures compliance with relevant rules and regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Identifying Risk - Assists in implementing methods of risk evaluation. Aids in development of strategies or solutions to address evaluation results. May involve creation of models or simulation scenarios to test risk conditions.
  • Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets routine data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output.
  • Operational Support - Supports business functions by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and performing other operational tasks. May produce documentation, presentations, or other materials to educate on risk policies and procedures.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, company trends, and risk factors. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience in Risk or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in Risk or Analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical skills - Collects and analyzes data, problem-solves, and transforms findings into digestible insights; helps solve problems and improves overall productivity and success.
  • Computer skills - Maintains a working knowledge of the Microsoft (MS) Office suite of applications; may include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or any combination.
  • Self-Directed Work Ethic - Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and tasks; does not require constant assistance or supervision to complete tasks; proactively identifies and takes appropriate action on what needs to be done.
  • Critical Thinking Skills - Analyzes information and exhibits sound reasoning to arrive at valid conclusions.
  • Detail Oriented - Manipulates small pieces of data with accuracy and focus; delivers high quality work, characterized by exactness and completeness.

The base pay for this position is generally between $30.00/hr and $35.00/hr. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
