If you enjoy meaningful problemsolving, collaborative partnerships, and work that directly strengthens the employee experience, this role puts you right at the center of shaping Duke's workplace culture.

  • Strong leadership experience and the ability to build effective networks across an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR experience in a healthcare and/or research setting.
  • Ability to analyze trends, develop training, and recommend policy or program enhancements.
  • Experience supporting ADA accommodations, FMLA interpretation, and conflict resolution.

Other Requirements

  • This role includes oncall responsibilities on some weekends and holidays due to support for both University and Health System operations.
  • Onsite. Work is performed onsite or at a designated assignment location.

Be Bold.
What You'll Do

  • Advise and guide managers on employee issues by interpreting HR policies, procedures, and labor laws to support consistent and responsible decisionmaking.
  • Investigate and resolve labor relations matters, serving as a representative during grievances, hearings, and related meetings.
  • Identify organizational trends and recommend policy improvements, training, and proactive interventions to address systemic issues.
  • Participate in ADA and FMLA processes, ensuring compliance and helping determine appropriate accommodations.
  • Support strategic HR initiatives such as employee engagement programs, multicultural awareness efforts, and organizationwide projects.
