JOB SUMMARY: * Maintains and preserves all interiors and exterior painted or similarly finished surfaces of buildings; prepares, maintains, and preserves painted surfaces of equipment, furnishings, machinery and buildings services systems, including parking lots and similar ground areas

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Supervisor or, in his absence, the Director of Maintenance and Engineering. Positions Supervised: May be asked to provide functional supervision of others on occasion.



EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:



  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent trade school education. Must have completed an apprentice training program in the application, maintenance and use of paint and painting materials.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required.



EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:



  • 5 years' experience in construction, industrial or commercial painting, including building maintenance services.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Requires math, reading, and adaptability, logic, driving, and typing/word processing.
  • Requires ability to operate specialized equipment: i.e., air brush, spray guns.



WORKING CONDITIONS: All areas of the hospital, grounds and out-buildings; works in heights and heat; subject to exposure to changes in temperature and humidity; the noise level can be high; work pace is generally steady with occasional emergencies. Subject to shift rotation. Exposed to moving machinery. Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mists, gases, biological, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and other hazardous materials. The incumbent is expected to adhere to the Hospital's Drug and Smoke Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, reach, bend, push/pull, kneel, crouch and perform repetitive movements for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift supplies and/or equipment up to 70 pounds. The employee uses sight, hearing, speech, and smell. Specific vision requirements include visual acuity, color vision and ability to adjust focus. UNIFORM/DRESS REQUIREMENTS: Each employee is a representative of Suburban Hospital and, by his/her appearance, communicates to each customer the commitment of the Hospital to quality, professional, and service-oriented health care. Employees must understand and abide by hospital-wide and department-specific dress code requirements as per HR Dress Code Policy.

Salary Range: Minimum 20.40/hour - Maximum 33.65/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
