Position Summary

The primary function of the Purchasing Analyst is to provide analytical support to all areas of the Purchasing department. The individual will improve the Purchasing department performance through accurate and timely pricing information and analysis of purchasing/pricing data. He or she will work closely with the Purchasing coordinator and the Accounting and IT department to improve/redesign current pricing and tracking processes. The employee will provide support and help manage the product code consolidation project as well as keep all commodity codes organized for all products. The individual must be self-motivated, willing to learn and adapt to new situations, and focused on the needs of the GMS locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the retrieval, documentation, and remediation of wallboard & insulation pricing (possibly more categories in the future). Keep accurate and timely records of all pricing changes, organize prices. Effectively communicate pricing changes with all GMS locations. Facilitate effective communication between vendors and GMS locations. Work with the purchasing department, purchasing coordinator and accounting department to track rebates, credits, etc. Be accountable for over $50 million of vendor rebates. Assist in the creation and management of a rebates reconciliation process. Perform audits of received claims against contract numbers, purchase and net pricing, and product lines against active rebate contracts.
  • Develop and analyze purchasing data, generate reports, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Organize and distribute product codes for new products, manage and organize existing codes (gate keeper for all codes).
  • Develop and maintain tools for product/product group and vendor margin analysis. Provide purchasing and pricing analysis for purchasing team to prepare for negotiations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Strong Microsoft office skills Experience using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts, creating tables and graphs, writing and using macros, and VLookUp & HLookUp and knowledge of VBA Core Competencies: Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity. Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 70% of the time. Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $82,900.00 to $107,800.00 annually. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, profit-sharing programs, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
