Technical Training Instructor

Description

The Training Instructor develops and conducts training programs to train employees and occasionally customers of Thompson Tractor on the repair, installation, maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics tooling, proper processes, proper methods and operations of machinery and equipment. The position requires continuous learning in order to maintain an expert level of knowledge on various systems, models, and machines.

Travel Requirements

Moderate overnight travel within the Thompson territory will be required. Instructors are also required to attend multi-day out of territory factory led training classes and events each year in order to stay up to date on systems and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities & Expectations



  • Develop and deliver service training courses
  • Design, build, and maintain appropriate training aids and materials
  • Conduct hands-on lab exercises in conjunction with class sessions
  • Schedule instructor led courses and coordinate classroom availability
  • Administer knowledge and skills assessments and certify mechanics
  • Work with division supervisors and managers to address training needs
  • Participate in or conduct monthly branch service meetings
  • Stay up to date on products and systems
  • Maintain a strong professional image
  • Other duties assigned by management


Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Technical education is highly preferred.

Experience

Must have experience working as a service technician. Experience using Microsoft 365 and basic typing skills are required for this position.

Work is normally performed in a classroom, service department shop office, or shop environment. Exposure to physical risk and all-weather conditions is associated with this position. Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required.
