Position Overview:

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Wickliffe Plant Manager oversees all aspects of plant production activities in a 24/7 operation. The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operations of the plant; establishes the primary strategy with the Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Safety, Environmental, and Engineering organizations to maintain the facility and improve its reliability while meeting the expense budget. Complies with all Environmental, Health, and Safety laws and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures.

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Provide leadership for the Wickliffe plant by establishing and implementing long-term strategies, building a collaborative and engaging workplace culture, and inspiring the workforce to achieve the company's goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with plant leaders to drive the IngeviWay culture of "Build, Inspire, and Lead", through advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion with integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Create and maintain a cohesive team of leaders, providing mentoring and development for future readiness of plant leadership roles.
  • Provide a clear sense of direction and focus to plant team members, building trusting relationships.
  • Partner with the corporate CI team in driving continuous improvement initiatives at the plant.
  • Play an active role in plant staffing to ensure proper headcount is maintained, create a positive employee and labor relations culture, and drive a culture of performance accountability.
  • Build effective relationships with other plant leaders and corporate team members
  • Build and maintain strong organizational knowledge and understanding of SH&E rules and regulations to maintain a strong culture of compliance and values
  • Drive a zero-injury culture through demonstrated management leadership and employee engagement. Drive improvement in key lagging/leading metrics: TCIR, process safety incident reduction, increased near-miss and hazard reporting
  • Pursue improvements to both organizational and plant performance.
  • Manage the Wickliffe Plant's overall spending budget.
  • Coordinate with the S&OP team and other Performance Materials Plant Managers to ensure that operational schedules are executed to meet business demands
  • Has authority to make all decisions that are necessary to operate the Wickliffe facility safely, reliably, and in an environmentally sound manner
  • Lead and serve as a member of the plant leadership team developing the overall plant vision and culture.
  • Ensure the RC 14001 and IATF 16949 certifications are maintained and leverage the certification activities to improve plant operations
  • Act as Company representative in maintaining relations and ensuring adherence to contract terms with the local labor Union.
  • Exemplifies safety procedures and wears appropriate PPE
  • Embraces and demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Ingeviway in Action
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 15+ years Production\Manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years operations management experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and leadership of safety and quality systems, practices, and requirements for a safe, efficient, and effective work environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills, including the ability to motivate people, assess, select, and develop employee skills, and drive organizational culture change
  • Knowledge and understanding of project and change management principles in planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful completion and adoption of project goals and objectives
  • Experience in a Union manufacturing environment. preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
