Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is usually required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and peripheral vision. The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Description

Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality assurance of manufactured product to ensure compliance with product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.

  • Inspects pipes for defects such as blowholes, cracks, and rough spots.
  • Weighs and counts pipes, and records inspection data on standard form.
  • Communicate with supervisors of quality defect.
  • Perform calibration of gauges.
  • Suggests changes inuseof equipment to increase efficiency ofprocess.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divideinall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills - Computer literate, some training will be available. Ability to use scanner and copier.
