SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Subsea Systems Maintenance Manager will plan, organize, lead, and report on the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all assigned commercial and government furnished equipment (GFE) underwater work and search and recovery systems. This person will also ensure that clear, concise, and timely readiness reporting of all assigned equipment is maintained throughout the Undersea Operations and Commercial Operations Departments. This position is located in Largo, MD and reports to the General Manager. CLASSIFICATION: Exempt (salaried) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, schedule, and direct the maintenance and repair of all assigned underwater equipment.
- Establish, maintain, and effectively report on the system readiness, and preventive maintenance schedule (PMS) for Phoenix commercial and GFE equipment.
- Monitor developments in the industry to recommend system upgrades, procedural changes, and equipment replacement planning and execution.
- Coordinate and direct assigned personnel in the maintenance and repair of equipment by forming an efficient and effective team.
- Prepare and generate detailed equipment maintenance schedules and readiness reports in a timely manner, but not less than monthly.
- Closely coordinate with Operations Department Program Management staff, Engineering staff, and Logistics and Administrative support staffs to meet the demands of an efficient equipment maintenance program organization.
- Establish Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) quality management processes and procedures to support all maintenance and repair activities to meet industry and company ISO standards.
- Work with Engineering in developing preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) and integrating required engineering modifications.
- Schedule personnel, with other Operations Department Program Management participation, to properly support the assignment, mobilization, and deployment of operations project teams worldwide.
- Develop and implement a training and maintenance qualification plan for assigned employees while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Cultivate and maintain a rewarding, satisfying, and challenging Maintenance Department work environment that will attract and retain quality personnel.
- Promote and ensure compliance with Phoenix's safety programs, quality management system (QMS), and company policies, processes, and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree. Minimum ten years field experience of leadership experience on complex search and recovery, ROV, and other subsea equipment may be substituted for the undergraduate degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of system maintenance requirements for associated search and ROV subsystems, i.e. sonar, underwater acoustic, and surface horizontal positioning systems, fiber optic data communications, sonar interpretation, cameras, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of system maintenance requirements for associated search and ROV ancillary systems i.e. LARS, generators, motion compensators, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of subsea search and recovery techniques, ROV operations, recovery and rigging techniques for deep ocean tasks, and related mission support requirements.
- Knowledge of the military transportation system for shipment of personnel and equipment aboard military aircraft and familiarity with required documentation and packaging to transport hazardous material and manned and unmanned manned systems.
- Knowledgeable in equipment inventory and property control procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively at planning, scheduling, and managing all levels of maintenance and repair operations.
- Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work and communicate with highly technical personnel.
- Must be a team player and promote teamwork.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Ability to travel worldwide, on short notice for indefinite periods of time.
- Ability to successfully pass background check and drug/alcohol testing, as required.
