Summary: Coordinates contract construction of gas/liquid pipelines, processing, measurement, and compression/pump projects. Responsible for on-site construction management, maintenance of quality control and code compliance on construction projects. Maintains records and documentation related to construction projects. Works with contractors, contract inspectors, project managers, engineers and field operations staff to ensure successful implementation and completion of projects. This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area and discipline of Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E). Performs work under general direction and work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and ensuring compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems. Solutions are consistent with the objectives of the organization. This position may train and mentor less experienced professionals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Manage, coordinate, and direct the daily activities of contract construction personnel for projects conducted by the Engineering & Construction Group. * Responsible for providing construction support and working with Engineering & Construction Project Managers/Engineers, Commercial staff, Area Operations staff, 3rd Party Engineering firms and contractors to assist in project design, estimating, and scheduling. * Assist Project Managers/Engineers with the development of project scopes of work to assure operational fit and constructability through on-site field investigations, planning and meetings with appropriate parties. * Coordination of contractor bid process, construction and inspection management to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, job safety, and required project documentation.
* Candidate may also be assigned project management responsibilities, as required, to support specified projects. * As needed, additional functions may be assigned to meet company's business needs. Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
* Eight (8) years' directly related experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. * 8+ years of electrical industrial experience (or approved equivalent) * Licensed electrical Journeyman
* Candidate must possess extensive knowledge of Rockwell PLC Logix and Panel View programming * Assists engineering teams in the development of Capital projects related to liquid measurement/pumping facility equipment to include: A.) Identification of Projects, B.) Project Justification, C.) Project prioritizing and work scopes, D.) Project Management, E.) Project Commissioning * Coordinate Functional Acceptance Testing support at LACT and Booster Pump fabricators * Candidate must possess effective written & verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a collaborative environment. * Candidate must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities. * Willingness to work in an environment where compensation is tied to performance and skill level. * Incumbent is required to carry a cell phone and is subject to call out 24 hours a day at any time for emergency response, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks. * Candidate must have proven safe driving record and valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Attentive to detail and accuracy; identified opportunities to drive continuous improvement; monitor safety/quality level; find root cause of safety/quality problems. * Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect information, establish facts and draw conclusions.
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. * Job duties are performed outside in all types of inclement weather. * Occasional overnight travel may be required. * Frequent visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
