Job Description About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you play a key role in improving thermoforming operations by leading technical projects, solving process challenges, and helping introduce new equipment and systems. You'll work handson in the plant, partnering with production teams to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and manage projects from concept through completion. This role is ideal if you enjoy problemsolving, taking ownership of technical challenges, and driving improvements that make a real impact on safety, quality, and efficiency. You'll have the opportunity to grow your engineering skills, lead meaningful projects, and contribute directly to the success of the operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads projects that improve equipment performance, process reliability, and overall operational efficiency.

  • Plans and manages all phases of engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating contractors or vendors.

  • Works closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues and provide onsite technical support.

  • Implements new equipment, molds, systems, or processes into daily operations.

  • Trains operators and technical staff on new equipment or project outcomes.

  • Ensures all work follows safety policies and supports a safe working environment.

  • Monitors project progress and ensure solutions are effective after implementation.

  • Supports additional engineering or improvement projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Holds an engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.

  • Has 1-6 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Communicates clearly in both written and verbal formats.

  • Shows proven ability to lead, collaborate, and motivate others.

  • Proficient with 2D/3D design software and projectplanning tools.

  • Able to travel occasionally (approximately 10% annually).

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to move through a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing as needed.

  • Able to lift moderate weights when required for project work.

  • Comfortable working around machinery, tools, and production equipment.

Additional Information:

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard office hours with occasional weekend or holiday work during critical project phases

Remote Eligible: No- this position is fully on-site in Lawrence, KS
