Overview

The Electrical Engineer will support our engineering team in performing Arc Flash Studies.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

    Perform Arc Flash studies for electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
  • Collect electrical system data in the field, including equipment ratings, protective device settings, and one-line diagrams.
  • Develop, review, and maintain electrical system models in ETAP for accurate analysis of fault currents, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazards.
  • Analyze study results and prepare detailed technical reports, including recommendations for mitigating arc flash risks.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing design drawings and electrical documentation to support power system analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of field data, study results, and engineering calculations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with exposure to power system studies and Arc Flash analysis.
  • Proficiency with ETAP software for modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NEC standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to perform field visits and data collection at client sites.

Preferred

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with other power system analysis tools (e.g., SKM, CYME) is a plus.
  • Experience with substation design and construction standards for Southern California Edison.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
