We have a total of 206 licensed acute beds and are one of the largest providers of acute inpatient services in Southeastern Pennsylvania. WhatYou'llDo (Position Description) The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of aNurse Manager and Registered Charge Nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisisinterventionand activities of daily living. MHT's willconductregularsafety checks on patients,assistinfacilitating patientgroups,assistnurses in the admission and discharge process, and support patientgroups orone-on-one. Successful candidatesmustdemonstrate leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment,flexibility for reassignment tovarious units/populationsincluding children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients, and mustknow andcomply withall confidentiality laws and regulation, e.g., HIPPA. MHT'sshouldalsodemonstraterespect and understanding of patients, as well asbe able to effectively engage with all levels of stakeholders, including our CEO and CNO, various departments,patientsand their families. The work is performed ina hospital/inpatient behavioral health setting, therefore, there exists a potential for exposure to environmental hazards and contagious diseases, exposure to crisis/emergency situations, and exposure to all infectious diseases including HIV/TB/Hepatitis, blood and body fluids and needle sticks.
