General Summary:

Flambeau, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist responsible for proprietary product sales for assigned accounts. These duties require relationship building and expanding Flambeau's product range with them. Pursuing new business with assigned accounts and pursuing sales opportunities with prospects is fundamental to this position. Knowledge of Flambeau's proprietary products and packaging product lines will be required to perform at high level. Selling value-add capabilities inherent with the complete product offering is required. Inside Sales Account Manager duties include price management; account profitability; and maximizing the overall customer experience.

This position is hybrid with working at the Madison, WI office 3 to 4 days a week.

Essential Duties:


  • Acquire solid understanding of the proprietary products offering including features; benefits, and all value-add propositions.
  • Articulate product line breadth; features and benefits; advantages; and value-add propositions clearly and concisely via multiple communication platforms including email; internet; and catalogs.
  • Acquire thorough understanding of the Stock Product offering; sales policies; terms and conditions.
  • Acquire thorough understanding of proprietary product market applications including the competitive landscape with competitor products.
  • Take ownership for assigned account sales. Manage product line position; price; profit margins, and forward profitability.
  • Utilize all Flambeau marketing tools and internal contacts to maximize customer's ability to expand business with Flambeau, Inc.
  • Advocate for Flambeau in all negotiations; agreements; and programs including sales allowances; rebates; managed inventory, and other services.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQ's) per company policy and complete quotations in timely and thorough manner. Document and archive these per Flambeau policies.
  • Coordinate sales building activities involving proprietary product lines between assigned accounts and prospects with Customer Service/Engineering/Quality/Credit and Operations.
  • Work with ales Leadership to identify target prospects and coordinate business development activities with them.
  • Conduct outbound sales calls with objective to "sell" existing customers and prospects. Utilize information from web leads, industry prospect lists, trade shows, and other marketing tools.
  • Coordinate customer visits with respective plants when necessary. Attendance at these events may require travel to Flambeau factories.
  • Participate in sales forecasting, expense planning, and budgeting processes for assigned accounts.
  • Monitor engineering changes (ECR's) for material, components, or burden cost changes and take appropriate price action utilizing margin goals and guidelines.
  • Acquire knowledge of where proprietary molds are located; understand condition, age, and useful life of these molds.
  • Assist with shipment of prototype/pilot build parts and ALWAYS advocate for the sale of proprietary products at assigned accounts and prospects.
  • Document special exceptions for customer requests/negotiations outside normal procedure and elevate as required.

Education/Certification Requirements:


  • College degree preferred. Will accept relevant sales experience with Industrial/Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) or Business-to-Business (B2B) sales experience.

Experience & Skill Requirements:


  • One to three years' experience selling or account management with OEM's and/or B2B sales.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good understanding with basic math along with good analytical skills. Understand margin calculations (margin vs mark-up). Acquire ability to understand Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Acquire ability to understand/interpret 2-D part drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word & Excel and knowledge of Power Point or presentation graphics is ideal.
  • Professional work appearance and conduct expected within the organization and always displayed with customers and prospects.

Physical Requirements:

This is an office role with minimal physical requirements. Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 8 hours a day and may be required to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Requires use of office equipment such as computer and/or laptop and copy machine.
