The Senior Technician is responsible for leading a team of technicians to complete preventative maintenance, calibration, repair, and qualification of ultra-high vacuum tools used for a physical vapor deposition (PVD) process, along with secondary equipment, in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will be able to perform quality work in a fast-paced, advanced technology production department.



Key Responsibilities



Technical



  • Align and calibrate precision tools used in the production process.
  • Complete end-of-campaign maintenance on deposition tools including disassembly, grinding, cleaning, and reassembly.
  • Troubleshoot tools with hardware malfunctions or below standard performance.
  • Qualify production tools after any maintenance event.
  • Perform basic fabrication (Drilling, tapping, etc.)


Leadership



  • Coordinate technicians to complete tasks daily according to the goals/priorities set by Engineering/Management.
  • Help and offer advice to technicians to complete directed tasks as needed.
  • Train newly hired technicians as well as upskilling existing technicians.
  • Help and offer technical advice to tool operators as needed.


Organization



  • Document/Log maintenance events with appropriate level of detail.
  • Maintain a parts inventory and order basic parts needed to maintain a safety stock.
  • Escalate complex issues to Engineers.
  • Assist Engineers with process development and R&D tasks.
  • Assist in development of SOPs for production and maintenance.

Requirements

Required Qualifications



  • Experience operating or maintaining vacuum systems.
  • Craftsman skill level with hand tools, light power tools, and basic electrical tools.
  • Basic understanding of electro-mechanical components (steppers, servos, etc.)
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with small, fragile parts and to use fine manipulation tools such as tweezers and vacuum pens.
  • Experience and understanding of basic chemical safety.
  • Experience using computers including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technician in industrial environment or similar role/industry.
  • Very good attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy weights safely.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including respirators.
  • Must be available for first shift, typically 5:30AM to 2:30PM.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working on High-Vac or Ultra-High Vac tools.
  • Experience with PVD or other deposition techniques.
  • Experience as a Senior Technician or similar role.
  • Experience leading people in technical roles.
  • Associate degree, Technical Certification, or Apprenticeship in related skills.

The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
