Based in the Barrington, Illinois office and reporting to the Director of Corporate Risk Management, this individual contributor role manages Workers' Compensation/Employer's Liability, Auto Liability, Commercial General Liability, and other assigned claims throughout the entire claims management lifecycle. Leveraging technical expertise, the position evaluates complex cases, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives cost reduction and process improvement with a focus on fair, efficient, and timely service. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Corporate Legal associates, Corporate Risk Management associates, outside legal counsel, third-party administrators, and insurers to establish and maintain strong working relationships.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Receive, review, and report claims in a timely manner to internal and external contacts.
  • Assist attorneys, third-party administrators, and insurers with claims investigations and information gathering to support claims management processes.
  • Respond to requests related to current and historical claims.
  • Compile requested information into concise and meaningful reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate authorization of claim payments and supporting documentation.
  • Manage claims using appropriate cost-containment strategies with accurate and timely file documentation.
  • Establish claim file reserves for anticipated exposures, subject to authority limits, with engagement from internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate claims review meetings with both internal and external parties.
  • Provide support for the company Return to Work Program in accordance with the medical disability plan for injured workers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and organizational success.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word primarily)
  • 5+ years' claims management experience with Worker's Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Auto Liability, and other casualty lines of coverage.
  • Ability to work both independently and constructively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Commercial construction/real estate industry knowledge preferred.
  • Workers' Compensation Claims Professional (WCCP) designation preferred.
  • Associate in Claims (AIC) designation preferred.

The midpoint salary for this position is $110,000. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
