SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Loan Assistant Team Lead to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. As a Loan Assistant Team Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of multiple loan assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies and industry regulations. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and facilitating professional development through coaching and training.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of loan products and regulations, and a proven ability to drive team performance and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. This position is perfect for individuals looking to leverage their expertise in lending while taking on a leadership role within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing guidance and support to the team, including daily activities and long-term horizon growth.

  • Oversees work distribution to ensure all Loan Assistants within the region are working at optimal levels.

  • Conducts performance reviews and manages performance of Loan Assistants through collaboration with Bankers to ensure Loan Assistants are providing necessary support for optimum efficiency.

  • Monitors exception report, past due report, insurance tracking, and corporate learning assignments for their assigned market/team, to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.

  • Role may include the responsibilities of a Loan Assistant with a smaller number of Relationship Managers to support. Based on size of team, could be in a Leadership role only.

  • Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants to cover PTO requests, and absences.

  • Leadership skills are utilized to organize and lead the team through challenging work environments.

  • Primary source of information for team members as issues arise around loan processing cycle.

  • You will collaborate with deal teams and other stakeholders to enhance customer service and streamline processes.

  • This role could involve managing complex loan applications, conducting quality control reviews, and addressing any issues that arise during the loan processing cycle.

Lender / Customer Support

  • If applicable, maintain clear and effective communication with lenders (up to 1-2), and other stakeholders throughout the loan process.

  • Provide exceptional client service through offering assistance and responding to questions and requests for information.

  • Notify clients of any issues or discrepancies that may arise and assist in resolving them.

SKILLS NECESSARY

  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail required.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree or additional course work in banking, finance or lending is an asset.

  • Experience:

    • 5-7 years of banking experience required.

    • Prior leadership experience preferred.

    • 5-7 years as a Loan Assistant or comparable experience.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position could be in a cubicle or private office environment that may be loud throughout the day.If applicable telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to meet with lender and/or client meetings as needed.In addition, travel may be required to attend all hands meetings, career development, site visits, acquisition/merger support, etc.
