Job Overview
The incumbent operates a centralized computer system that monitors and controls multiple utility and environmental system parameters and other critical FSEU. Serves as the central communications hub for all facilities and safety related issues.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Operates the MetaSys computer platform to monitor and control various critical systems site-wide.
- Monitors environments and is responsible for the remote control of HVAC systems to include air, cold deck and hot deck settings.
- Monitors a wide range of various FSEU system(s) parameters and operating status. Reports problems or deficiencies to the appropriate maintenance or engineering personnel.
- Responds to emergent issues and mitigates them whenever possible.
- Provides critical communications to applicable stakeholders concerning FSEU status and impacts to safety, production, or personnel.
- Interfaces with maintenance and operations personnel to ensure the safe accomplishment of outages and other maintenance activities.
- Provides support as appropriate for maintenance and engineering activities including investigation and troubleshooting. Provides trend data or other operational/failure mode profiles as requested.
- Performs walk throughs and boots-on-the-ground checks and assessments of critical areas and FSEU site-wide.
- Monitors weather and interfaces with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure the site is protected from flooding or other inclement weather conditions.
- Creates, modifies, and maintains graphics interfaces used on the MetaSys platform.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Minimum high school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Two years of accredited college in the field of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience relating specifically to at least one of the disciplines listed above may be substituted for the college requirement.
- Technical knowledge in one or more FSEU disciplines necessary.
- Experience with MetaSys or similar computer platforms strongly desired.
- Experience in industrial and computerized control systems strongly desired.
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC systems and equipment strongly desired.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
- Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

- Ability to adapt to new systems on equipment.

Preferred:
- Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Walk up and down stairs frequently.
- Bend, stoop, push, and pull frequently.
- Wear PPE such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and gloves.
- Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
