| Position Highlights |
The W.A. Franke Honors College is seeking two experienced Assistant Directors. The Assistant Directors for Nationally Competitive Scholarships manage the day-to-day efforts of the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships (ONCS) under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement. The Assistant Directors are responsible for supporting top students and alumni in their pursuit of nationally competitive awards, providing clear direction and guidance that streamlines processes and bolsters confidence in prospective applicants. These positions also strengthen communication with a variety of key stakeholders across campus and beyond, including faculty, staff and alumni, that enables the University of Arizona to foster excellence in supporting top candidates across a range of interests, disciplines and awards. While these positions are embedded in the W.A. Franke Honors College, they will serve all UA students and alumni. Both positions will be available for hybrid work schedules. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Direct student advising and feedback for nationally competitive scholarship processes, focusing on awards requiring institutional endorsement and helping with other awards when available.
- Recruit and develop outreach to students, faculty, staff, and campus units concerning information about nationally competitive scholarships and their application processes.
- Collaborate with key campus stakeholders, such as the Provost's Office, to extend marketing reach beyond the Honors College.
- Develop and host information sessions and workshops on nationally competitive scholarship processes.
- Create and maintain databases of prospective and current applicants plus awardees.
- Administer application processes for 10+ awards requiring institutional endorsement, using their respective portals.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues on creating timely press releases.
- Update ONCS website content and materials on a regular basis.
- Complete annual program report/assessment.
- Review internal scholarships.
- Collaborate with other team members.
- Develop and assist with events/programming.
- Serve on internal committees/conduct internal assessments and review.
- Campus liaison: Phi Beta Kappa.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of scholarship processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as a part of a collaborative team.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
