Field-based positions:

Hannaford offers a flexible work environment, with a hybrid work expectation for field-based positions of being physically present in-store and/or a General Office in your territory at least 3 days a week.

Prospective candidates must reside in one of Hannaford's five (5) operating states (ME, NH, MA, VT, NY).

Position Summary:
The operational expert for Fresh and Center Store Department Managers to improve execution levels and sustain conditions. Drive solutions to district financial and operational priorities by educating and coaching Fresh and Center Store Department Managers and Retail Management Trainees on standard practices, business systems, product knowledge and merchandising programs. Close the feedback loop to retail to aid with continuous improvement of Fresh and Center Store department operations. Support the development of Fresh and Center Store trainers within respective regions to assist with training needs and the implementation of new programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow-up on retail execution of Fresh and Center Store merchandising programs (new and existing) and strategies through frequent store visits. Analyze Fresh and Center Store operations with Department Managers providing feedback to Department Manager, Store and District leadership.
  • The technical expert for all tools and systems used by Fresh and Center Store Department Managers.
  • Educate and coach Department Managers, Retail Management Trainees and Department Manager Trainees on standard practices, business systems and product knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to the Manager Fresh and Center Store Operations on the effectiveness and levels of execution of programs. Close the feedback loop back to retail.
  • Promote and build positive relationships by role modeling strong leadership skills and our cultural behaviors while facilitating the execution of Hannaford's strategy and improvement of customer service.
  • Review key performance indicators measuring the effectiveness of Fresh and Center Store in-store operating systems and merchandising programs. Coach and teach to obtain improved results and sustain conditions.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities regarding Fresh and Center Store training and operational execution by examining root causes.
  • Maintain and support the development of qualified Fresh and Center Store trainers and resources within respective regions to assist with training support and the implementation of new programs.
  • Responsible for completing Fresh and Center Store Sales and Shrink Reviews when needed.
  • Serve as an ad hoc consultant for the Director of Operations for talent, performance and execution of Fresh and Center Store Managers.
  • Support new store openings and remodels by coaching and teaching Fresh and Center Store Manager resources to ensure execution of standard practices, initiatives and programs.
  • Represent retail on assigned projects.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager experience
  • High school diploma
Preferred:
  • Thorough understanding of Fresh and Center Store operations and merchandising practices
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to train and develop associates
  • Microsoft suite proficiency preferred
  • Proven ability to problem solve


The Salary Range for this Position is $75,040 - $112,560
