DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a compassionate, innovative and experienced manager to join our Psychiatry Clinic team at UC San Diego. Our diverse team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of care.

The clinic manager will oversee the clinic functions including scheduling patient appointments, encounter registration, maintain patient records and insurance verifications to ensure effective operations of the clinic. Incumbent will serve as a liaison with other departments and partners in the resolution of day-to-day activities. The manager is responsible for training, on-site supervision, and support for day-to-day operations of the psychiatry clinic.

Responsible for the direct supervision of assigned team members, serving as the key point person for questions and issue resolution. Interfaces with patients, physicians, employees, and others; building positive relationships throughout each interaction. Must multi-task between identifying areas for improving efficient operations, ensuring that quality standards are met while providing the highest level of personalized customer service and executing Patient Experience goals. Serve as initial point of contact for the psychiatry practice, with the knowledge and ability to direct patient to particular clinic/service based on information provided by patient.

Functions as advisor to providers, employees, and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge in the area of behavioral health. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Thirteen years of related experience, education/training, OR an advanced degree in related area plus seven years of related experience/training.

  • Behavioral Health experience (either clinical, leadership, educational, or research).

  • Experience and proven success in effectively supervising a team and manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with social work services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed in a behavioral health discipline.
  • Ability to work with patient experience improvement.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $119,400 - $230,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $57.18 - $110.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
