Overview

The largest and most important construction program in Electric Boat's history is expanding, and you can be part of the team that leads it! Construction efforts on the lead ship COLUMBIA are ramping up, and we need exceptional people to lead the program.

QP Program Representatives (QPPRs) lead the functional areas of EB with the goal of achieving all program objectives. QPPRs are responsible for approving critical decisions involving cost and schedule, quality, and continuous improvement, continuously measuring each functional area's performance against objectives & initiate prompt corrective action, and representing EB to the Navy (Ship's Force/SOSG/PMS397) for Program issues.

The ideal candidate will possess technical experience, be a self-starter, one who takes initiative and will drive issues to resolution. QPPR's are the direct representative of the Program Manager, and will be the voice of the Program Office to the COLUMBIA Quonset Point team. This position is a tremendous opportunity to learn about all functional areas of the company, while also contributing to a key enterprise need. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading all functional areas in the construction of one or several Super Modules for COLUMBIA Class.

The QPPRs will work directly with Advance Planning, Operations and supporting functional areas to support execution of serial production for module assembly at QP to Super Module shipout. The candidate will develop comprehensive build assessments, providing critical inputs that shape the final construction plan. The candidate will manage the work in front of the production efforts to address new process start-up, build sequence changes, material availability or the need for fixtures or special test procedures etc to prevent challenges from becoming issues to the construction team. Cost, schedule and attainment metrics such as IMCS Data, 3G and 7G reports are the essential tools that will be use to track performance.

This is a high visibility position to shipyard and senior leadership. Successful candidates will be expected in time, to engage with all levels of management to report progress, seek assistance and manage activities.
