Your Role:

Reporting to theVice President, Total Rewards & People Operations, theCompensation Managerwill be a positive, upbeat, "egg-loving" person with the ability to relate to a diverse set of people, communicate clearly and appropriately, and be approachable yet professional. This person will primarily focus onleading the design, development and management of compensation programs that attract, motivate, andretaintop talent. TheCompensation Managerwillpartner closely with the People Team, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to deliver insights, guide decision making and ensure compensation programs are competitive andequitableand aligned with Vital Farms goals.This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail,expertisein compensationstrategyandthe ability to quickly build credibility withall levels ofcrew.

What You'll Do:



  • Design, implement and evolve compensation programs (base pay, variable pay, incentives, job architecture, and compensation structures) to support business growth and scalability.
  • Lead compensation planning processes, including annual increases, promotions, and bonus cycles.
  • Conduct and interpret market salary surveys; analyze competitive positioning and trend and provide recommendations on pay levels and compensation structure adjustments.
  • Support development and modeling of short- and long-term incentive plans.
  • Establish compensation governance frameworks to ensure consistency and internal equity.
  • Advise People Business Partners, talent acquisition, and business leaders on job offers, promotions and compensation decisions.
  • Partner on organizational design, workforce planning, career pathing and leveling initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving pay transparency regulations.
  • Provide education and guidance on compensation philosophy, policies, and market data.
  • Maintain documentation and audit readiness for compensation processes.
  • Act like an owner and assist with other projects as assigned.


What You Bring to the Table:



  • Minimum 5yearsprogressive experience in compensation;expertisein market pricing, job evaluation, incentive design, and compensation analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree with a specialization in human resources or compensation preferred.
  • Certification (CCP, GRP, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems and other compensation management tools (e.g., UKG, MarketPay, Payscale).
  • Strong modeling skills in Excel or other analytic tools.
  • 20-30% travel is required for team meetings, company trainings, and events.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level,experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs.A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
