Position summary:

Provide overall management of Black Hills Energy's natural gas fired power plant(s). This position will be responsible for providing effective people leadership and management of large scale and complex plant equipment. This position has responsibility to oversee the Operations and Maintenance of multiple generators that operate across diverse business segments. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the facility ensuring that the processes, systems, and tools are implemented, that will empower the staff to achieve the standards set for the facility.

Pay Range: $124,900 - $206,300 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship: General Manager Power Delivery

Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Essential Functions:
* Lead facility staff including hiring, training, work prioritization motivation and safety. This includes general oversight of facilities operating procedures, maintenance procedures and programs, spare parts inventory systems, accounting and general administrative procedures.
* Direct all plant maintenance functions including monitoring budget, planning work orders, scheduling work orders, and keeping records for plant activities, environmental correspondence, and unit evaluations.
* Supports the planning and execution of all major activities throughout the year and monitors variances.
* Assures that all work orders are performed on schedule and schedules are updated based on priority of work.
* Manage the PPA's, Interconnection agreements, and intercompany operating agreements.
* Develop and implement annual business plan for the facilities. Including the preparation and administration of annual capital and O&M budgets and financial performance forecasts as required.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including reporting.
* Thoroughly understand and strictly adhere to all policies, procedures, contracts, permits and other governing documents.
* Prepare monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders in order to provide updates on detailed facility financial and mechanical performance and reconcile actual performance to the business plan and original project Pro Forma.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Evaluates and directs the condition monitoring programs of plant equipment.
* Implementing and documenting modifications to the engines (Service Bulletins and Product Bulletins). This position is responsible for Outage Planning and Outage management, Evaluates and directs testing of plant equipment.
* Monitors all plant personnel to assure safety rules and OSHA regulations are followed and training requirements are adhered to.

What Is Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of (8) eight years of experience in management, engineering, power generation or a related field
* Team player and demonstrated ability to effectively lead in such an environment.
* Strong understanding of the use of personal computers & MS Office.
* Proven leadership skills including coaching and motivating.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of best maintenance practices.
* Knowledge of best safety practices particularly in power plant and shop environments.
* Skilled at comprehending company policies and processes.
* Strong technical skills relating to natural gas generation with an ability and desire to learn other technologies.
* Experience in leading and managing union and/or non-union employees in the construction, maintenance and operations of our generation facilities.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

What Is Desired:
* Experience with GE aero derivative combustion turbines or Wartsila RICE units.
