SUMMARY As a Manager, Plant Maintenance, you will have the unique opportunity to lead a team of energy generation professionals responsible for maintaining power plant electrical, control and mechanical equipment in safe, efficient and economical working condition while ensuring high reliability and availability of PGE's and Customer assets. You will direct the development and implementation of comprehensive maintenance programs including preventive, diagnostic, and analytical practices that balance operational goals with cost efficiency, while overseeing critical safety programs and emergency response planning for plant operations. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of plant mechanical, electrical and control systems combined with strong root cause troubleshooting skills, as well as exceptional analytical thinking and decision-making abilities paired with advanced project and risk management expertise. This role puts you at the forefront of PGE's clean energy transition, allowing you to work with cutting-edge technologies including distributed generation systems (DSG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and solar installations. You'll play a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers Oregon's sustainable energy future while developing innovative maintenance strategies for next-generation power systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plant Maintenance Management - Manages a team of energy generation staff responsible for maintaining power plant electrical, control and/or mechanical equipment in safe, efficient and economical working condition; provides technical management for the team, ensures that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures and regulations (environmental and safety) are followed; ensures that maintenance problems are identified and resolved; ensures that fleet and/or plant maintenance procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose; responsible for the safe execution of work.
- Maintenance Program Management - Directs the development, implementation and execution of maintenance programs including preventive, diagnostic and analytical maintenance practices and procedures for the plant; ensures a high degree of plant availability and reliability; manages all maintenance planning and scheduling activities including achieving corporate goals for scheduled outages; maintains maintenance performance metrics and provides trend information to the plant manager; works with other functional areas and plant management to balance goals and costs to achieve best results; develops, administers and enforces procedures and policies for plant maintenance; represents the plant on capital projects affecting the project site.
- Contract Management - Administers the plant maintenance and related contracts; provides oversight of contractor activities; manages equipment warrantees and the resolution of warranty issues
- Procurement - May oversee procurement and warehousing of spare parts for the plant; ensures that all materials procurement practices comply with PGE SOX guidelines.
- Emergency Planning/Response - Assists plant manager with implementation of an emergency action plan; develops and maintains procedures for effective plant operation, testing, startup and shutdown, and for operating equipment in emergency situations; leads and/or participates in periodic staff training in carrying out the plans for the plant as it relates to floods, earthquakes, fire, equipment or structural failures and other emergencies.
- Safety Leadership - Oversees safety programs and policies; ensures compliance with plant and corporate safety practices.
- Financial Management - Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
- Resourcing - Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation and selection processes.
- Professional Development - Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS Education
- Requires a bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Prefer eight or more years of Utility or Generation experience, including five years as a supervisor in maintenance or planning and scheduling.

#LI-SB1 Compensation Range: $119,840.00 - $222,560.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.
