Number of positions: 2 Duration: 15 weeks Date: June 2026 Location: On-site Murray Hill, NJ, USA Educational Requirements: Enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at a University outside the USA. Should have expertise in photonics, optics, and electrical engineering. As part of our team, you will: Perform optical simulations and modal analyses, including wave propagation, resonator design, AWGs, and laser cavity modeling. Conduct RF circuit simulations and characterize high-speed components using S-parameters and driver modeling. Develop lab automation tools using Python, AI frameworks, FPGAs, Red Pitayas, Arduinos, and automated wafer-probing systems. Carry out hands-on experimentation in optical labs, including optical alignment, device characterization, and testing of high-speed communication hardware. Analyze, summarize, and present results; prepare technical papers for conferences and journals; and collaborate with experts across photonics, optical networks, and electronics. Hands-on experience testing electro-optic and photonic devices in laboratory environments. Knowledge of optical waveguides, modulators, detectors, and related device physics. Knowledge of electrical circuitry and its interaction with photonic components. Experience working with free-space optical systems and alignment techniques. Familiarity with passive optical devices, including filters, resonators, and interferometer networks. Proficiency with simulation tools for waveguide modeling and optical circuit design.
