Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a software engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Unmanned Systems and Future Combatants (UFC) line of business, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for software development supporting the Virtual Ship military simulator product line and various Tactical and Simulation software applications.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

  • C/C++
  • 10+ years of experience in developing Military Ship handling Simulators such as Virtual Ship
  • 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering bridge simulations
  • Experience integrating HLA, DIS, and visual federates
  • Specific experience migrating visual applications from OpenSceneGraph to Unreal Engine
  • Specific experience working with the Virtual Ship military simulator product line
  • Experience developing and integrating API calls with LCS specific simulators
  • Experience designing and implementing speech recognition federates
  • Experience designing and implementing LCS mission module training simulations
  • Experience implementing simulated shipboard CCTV systems
