Our Space and Defense group in Salt Lake City, UT now has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Purchasing leader to join our team. Formally titled Supply Chain Purchasing Supervisor, this person will lead and develop a high-performing purchasing team responsible for procuring materials, components, and services critical to Moog's Space & Defense programs. This role drives supplier performance, cost management, on-time delivery, and compliance with contract and regulatory requirements. The supervisor partners with engineering, program management, quality, and manufacturing to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials while optimizing inventory and cost.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this position offers an on-site, collaborative working environment with a flexible 9/80 schedule (M-Th, 7am-4pm and every other F from 7am-3pm)!

As our Supply Chain Purchasing Supervisor, you will make a critical impact in this role by holding responsibility for:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of buyers; set goals, conduct performance reviews, and manage workloads.

  • Oversee the acquisition of raw materials, components, tooling, and services to meet project schedules and quality standards.

  • Ensure procurement actions comply with government contract requirements, export controls (ITAR), DFARS, and corporate procurement policies.

  • Manage supplier performance evaluation; drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Monitor and analyze purchasing metrics (cost savings, on-time delivery, PO cycle time, supplier lead times) and report results to leadership.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and subcontract actions.

  • Escalate and resolve critical supply chain disruptions including supplier bankruptcies, quality escapes, and logistical issues.

To be considered for this Supply Chain Purchasing Supervisor role, you'll need to bring with you:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a supply chain or business-related function

  • 4+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.

  • Solid knowledge of government contracting requirements (DFARS, FAR), export controls (ITAR), and subcontract management.

  • Experience supporting or leading CPSR activities, or participation in other government procurement audits (e.g., DCMA reviews).

  • Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and negotiation of contracts.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office; experience with sourcing/contract management tools preferred.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment and manage multiple priorities under schedule pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Salary Range Transparency:

Salt Lake City, UT $110,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
